Bressanone: town of culture and congresses

The over 1100 year old town Bressanone represents a gate to the South. The historic centre, with the Dome and the Hofburg, has a very special atmosphere. In spring you can enjoy a nice sundae on the “piazza duomo” while looking at the Plose’s snowy hillsides.

Walking through the town you will see many places of interest. You should definitely visit the Dome, the white tower, the parish church S. Michael and the cloister with its frescos.

In December you should visit the traditional Christmas market on the Dome square. There are many stands with handcrafts, local dishes and house made spiced wine.

Not very far from Bressanone there is the monastery of Novacella. What you shouldn’t miss is Matthäus Günther’s baroque church and the cloister’s library filled with precious hand writings.

In case you visit the cloister of Novacella you should definitely try its house made wines.
