The spa oasis in our wellness guesthouse in Maranza has everything you could wish for: from the organic herbal sauna with a temperature of 50-60 °C to a light version of the Finnish sauna with gentle heat, which strengthens your circulatory and immune systems and invigorates your metabolism. Feel the tension melt away in the hot steam of our herbal sauna and experience the warmth paired with the healing scents and active ingredients of the organic herbs. Did you know that the ancient Romans already knew about the healing effects of herbal saunas? The ideal combination of warmth, moisture and herbs relaxes, cleanses, and relaxes the body and the mind. Muscle tension is released, and the highly effective plant extracts gently soothe your skin and soul.
The steam bath, with 100% humidity at a temperature of 40-45°C, helps you sweat faster, while your bronchi and blood vessels expand swiftly, making it the most pleasant way to detoxify and cleanse the body. Highly recommended for asthmatic respiratory diseases.
Our “Schwitzstübele” (Sweating Cabin) is panelled with South Tyrolean spruce wood. It is a Finnish sauna with a panoramic view, designed for fabulous mountain pine infusions. Here you can enjoy a hot sauna session at 85°C, which not only increases blood flow to the muscles after a long day of hiking or skiing and thus trains the elasticity of the blood vessels, but also stimulates the metabolism and improves your performance. You will return from your holiday at the Wellness Pension Sonnenhof full of new energy and motivation.
Would you like to spend your holidays or even just a weekend in the Gitschberg mountain region near Maranza? Then you are very welcome in our wellness guesthouse Pension Sonnenhof.
Our sauna is available free of charge every day. And if you wish to spend a full day of pure wellness, you will receive reduced entry to the ‘Alpinpool’, which is only 250m from the Pension Sonnenhof. For only 12 € per day you may use the wellness area with sauna and swimming pool.
An eventful vacation day comes to a perfect end with a pleasant wellness experience on the alpine plateau of Maranza. A visit to the in-house Finnish sauna at the Pension Sonnenhof promises relaxation for body and soul. Blood circulation is stimulated in the sauna and harmful toxins are flushed out of the body. A visit to the sauna contributes efficiently to improving physical well-being and maintaining health. After a challenging hike, an exciting day on the ski slopes or a lively toboggan ride, a sauna session is a special treat. The use of our Finnish sauna is free, and it is open all year round.

After their sauna sessions, our guests may cool off in two experience showers with waterfall and bucket showers offering the best organic mountain spring water from Maranza. Breathe deeply on the fresh air bridge at 1,400 meters above sea level. At this altitude, the mountain air is free of dust mites and extremely low in pollen and mould spores. The level of fine dust is extremely low (virtually 0%) here in Maranza. Breathe in the dewy mountain air while you take a few steps on our foot reflexology panoramic walkway. Here you will also enjoy the charming perspective and view over the entire Pusteria Valley and the idyllic surroundings of Maranza.
Furthermore, a local larch wood relaxation room with hay barn and a wonderful cozy corner for moments of peace await you during your wellness holiday. The spa area at the ‘Alpinpool’ (only 250m away) is a fabulous oasis of relaxation – and as a guest at the Pension Sonnenhof you are entitled to a reduced entrance fee and only pay for the spa area if you really want to use it. Otherwise, you may use our in-house the relaxation sauna (Finnish sauna) free of charge every day.

The family-friendly water park ‘Alpinpool’ in Maranza is a popular destination in South Tyrol. With its water world consisting of several pools and the spacious wellness area, the Alpinpool exerts a magical attraction on young and old. In addition to a sports pool with water depth between 140 and 160 cm, the Alpinpool kids’ world also has a baby pool and a children’s pool. Water slides, seesaws and fountains ensure that the kids won’t get bored. You will enjoy relaxing moments in the warm water of the whirlpool and the water massage loungers invite you to relax in the water. You only pay if you use it
Three different sauna areas await you in the spa area of the Alpinpool Maranza. You may choose between a Finnish sauna, a classic steam bath and a bio sauna with its gentle effects on your blood circulation. Guests of the Pension Sonnenhof enjoy reduced admission to the water park ‘Alpinpool’. You only pay for the use of the spa oasis if you actually use these facilities. This way, you will enjoy a significant price advantage. Of course, you don’t have to miss out on a sauna session during your holiday in Maranza: The Finnish sauna in the Pension Sonnenhof is open to you free of charge every day of the year.
