Holidays for allergy sufferers…
…in the soothing climate of South Tyrol
Clear, fresh mountain air, low pollen concentration and reduced dust levels make the alpine regions of South Tyrol a perfect travel destination for allergy sufferers. At an altitude of around 1,500 metres, you may enjoy the so-called stimulating climate. At this altitude, the pollen levels and the concentration of fine dust drop considerably, thus allergy and asthma sufferers can breathe freely. After just a few days, your general well-being noticeably improves and unpleasant side effects such as itching noticeably subside. The clean mountain air doesn’t just have a positive effect on the respiratory system. Blood pressure and pulse rate also drop at high altitudes. Studies also show that a longer stay at high altitudes lowers cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
Allergy-friendly…
…holidays at the Pension Sonnenhof
The Pension Sonnenhof is located at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level on a sunny plateau above the Pusteria Valley. At this altitude, the air is low in pollutants and hardly contains any impurities. From here you can set off on hikes into the high alpine regions of the South Tyrolean mountains. At altitudes between 1,000 and 3,000 metres, the health effects of the mountain air are even more palpable. In addition to clean air, drinking water quality plays a key role for many allergy sufferers. In South Tyrol, the drinking water usually comes directly from the mountains and has been naturally filtered and purified several times on its way through the rock. The pollution levels are significantly lower than in many other parts of Europe.
Healthy food
…for an allergy-free holiday
In South Tyrol, most of the organic food comes from local farms. The farms place significant importance on the natural production of fruit, vegetables and meat and the careful use of resources. At the Pension Sonnenhof you will find many products from local farms on the breakfast buffet. For the evening meals – as part of the half-board -, we only use fresh ingredients that are largely free from harmful substances. This turns a holiday for allergy sufferers in the South Tyrolean village of Maranza into a natural and pleasant experience, surrounded by a striking alpine panorama.
